Amazon will discontinue Shoppable Collections (Beta) on February 27, 2026

This update lands together with two structural shifts inside A+ Content:
-
The formal positioning of Brand Story as the primary branded module on the PDP
-
The rollout of Content Quality Analysis (beta) with recurring evaluation of A+ pages
That combination changes the content landscape more than the removal of one feature.
Shoppable Collections functioned as a visually curated brand layer within the “From the brand” section. Its sunset means Amazon is narrowing branded PDP presentation into a single standardized format.
At the same time, A+ Content is moving into measurable territory.

Under the new Content Quality Analysis beta, A+ pages are evaluated on:
– Readability
– Information completeness
– Visual presentation
– Conversion effectiveness
This introduces continuous scoring rather than static approval. A+ is no longer just “published or not.” It becomes monitored.
There is also a qualification layer attached to this shift.
Premium A+ Content eligibility requires a published Brand Story across catalog ASINs. Amazon has previously stated that Premium A+ can drive sales lifts of up to 20%. That makes Brand Story not only a presentation element, but a structural prerequisite for accessing higher-tier content formats.
Taken together, three signals emerge:
- Brand Story is the consolidated brand surface
- A+ quality is now scored on an ongoing basis
- Premium A+ access is tied to structural compliance
This is platform standardization.
It reduces parallel modules and introduces measurable quality control. Instead of optional enhancements, Amazon is defining a single branded framework and attaching performance expectations to it.
When a marketplace aligns content format, scoring logic, and premium eligibility at the same time, it usually reflects internal prioritization around one dominant system.
Whether that bet pays off – nobody knows yet. But the logic behind it is hard to argue with.
